When you have enough of all the fad diets and miracle pills that do not work and realize that there is much more to weight loss plan then a weight loss diet program by itself.

First you would need to change you bad eating habits to a healthy eating habits. Now that requires some smart and well educated decisions about it.

Only then you can really understand what healthy eating really is and what it is not.

It’s not much about what food you can eat and what food you can’t eat. It’s not about calorie counting or other point systems many diets programs follow.

What you need to get i sthat healthy eating is all about having balanced nutritious meals at least three times per day (and that is a minimum).

You should be eating many different types of foods, not limiting yourself to one particular food type or food group and removing others from your menu list.

Imaging you follow let’s say Atkins Diet. Imagine that they tell you that Atkins Diet is really the healthy eating you can follow for the rest of your life.

They will put you on diet that will lack a lot of good carbs. Now carbs are needed for your brain to function properly and a great energy source.

So when you remove carbs, you will become cranky, you will have tough time concentrating and you would feel sleepy the whole day! Now you tell me if that is healthy eating or “un-healthy” eating.

And I do not want to pick on Atkins Diet Plan, but you should not restrict yourself when it comes down to healthy eating! And many Fad Diets will just do that.

Healthy eating is a way of life, it is not something that you go on for period of time. It is something you do and live every single day. AgainĀ  fad diets fall short on the lifestyle promise, because no one can follow diet for long period of time.

Thus weight loss diets can not become part of your lifestyle.

So if you are ready to make a change in your health, energy levels or any other lifestyle enhancing activity, healthy eating is a great place to start!

  1. So do you have a plan to include what foods to eat during breakfast, lunch and dinner? I’d love to hear your advice on it because I’m not keeping a healthy eating lifestyle and want to monitor that!

    Hey Nando, I am going to write couple versions of the foods that you asked…Also in the Transitions Lifestyle GI book, which I wrote a review – Dr. Lieberman writes all the food that are great plus more like how to eat in restaurants or what fast food you can have etc…
