Weight Loss Or Fat Loss

Weight Loss Or Fat Loss

Lose Weight Or Lose Fat?
What’s The Difference?

Today on my second post to a fairly new blog about Stop Dieting, I have decided to go over some basics with you.

I have asked some of my clients if they know the difference between weight loss or fat loss. Not even one person was right.

But I think that if you are serious about your healthy weight ratio, you need to know this.

Let’s start with the term “Weight Loss” :

  • Weight Loss is a process where you lose weight. That means you can lose weight as water, fat or muscle. Many so called “weight loss diets” are set up in a way that you will lose weight. At least temporarily. But it will not be “fat loss” which is what you need to target.
  • When you lose weight as a muscle that where the danger lies. This usually happens when you are on diet that will tell you to eat less, cut down your calories etc… Your body starts to break down your own muscles, because it wants to preserve itself when you do not supply your body with nutrients it needs to be healthy.
  • So when you just want to lose weight, you have to be careful what you wish for.

Now let’s talk about the “Fat Loss” type of deal:

  • Fat Loss is actually “healthy weight loss”, because the weight you lose is fat, not a muscle.
  • When you lose fat, you will look great even if you lose a few pounds. That is just because pound of fat is about twice as big as pound of muscle!
  • You do not need to starve yourself or start counting calories when you target fat loss. On the contrary, you need to eat more.

And that is just a couple thinks you need to know. From now on when you want to get in shape, you need to think as:

“How Do I Trim The Fat Of My Belly?”

Instead of:

“How Do I Lose Weight?”

There is a big difference. You just need to remember that muscle breaks down fat for its own fuel. Logically more muscles you will have active, more fuel they will need. Which will ultimately lead to a long term fat loss. You body will become the ultimate “fat burning” furnace that will keep on going and going.

Your Today’s Weight Loss – Fat Loss Take Home Lesson:
Start thinking of burning fat, not losing weight. When you burn fat, you lose “healthy weight” automaticaly!
